Many individual steps in the leather manufacturing process require large amounts of water. For this reason, a water workshop is essential in leather production. Even the very first step in the process—soaking—is carried out in large drums or water tanks. The work in the water workshop takes place at the beginning of the leather manufacturing process and prepares the hides for the tanning stage.
